Tucked away in a small, secretive courtyard, Brutti Compadres can be found on the site of the original Tobacco Exchange in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City. 

Our café bar serves it all: tasty food from brunch to dinner; continental draught lagers to decent wines; and popular liqueurs to fine Italian coffee. We try to provide something for everyone with our brunch and a la carte lunch and dinner menus. Our aim is to transport our customers to the Mediterranean with our small plates and holiday style flavours served to you by naturally friendly staff in our soft industrial café bar. 

Whether you enjoy dining at an individual table, at the bar, or al fresco, you have the option of all three here at Brutti Compadres. We also accommodate bookings for large groups and special occasions.

WHERE WE ARE

We can be found in Virginia Court – the historical epicenter of Glasgow’s Merchant City. Once home to the Glasgow Tobacco Exchange and the offices of Tobacco traders, Virginia Street and Court were named after our western trading partners of the early 18thCentury. Right around the corner, on Miller Street, there is the tobacco merchant’s house, which was renovated in 1995 by the Scottish Civic Trust. The house was built in 1775 and bought by a tobacco importer, whose son later developed the Virginia buildings, amongst which our café bar now sits. 

Today, Virginia Court is a quiet safe haven of the bustling city centre. A short walk from Buchanan Street, St Enoch Subway station, and Glasgow Central, we are easily accessible for people living in or visiting Glasgow. We are surrounded by a variety of bars, restaurants, and shops.
